If on some hot, sun-drenched day in the future you can walk around downtown Phoenix and stay under shade cover most of the way, you may have a group of Arizona State University engineering students to thank.
At a recent City Hall press conference, Mayor Phil Gordon presented $1,000 prizes to each of two teams of graduate students in the Department of Industrial Engineering in ASU’s Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering for their designs to increase and optimize shade in the city’s urban core. Read more >
