Six Sigma Black Belt Certification

Welcome from the Program Director

Dear Prospective Black Belt,

Thank you for your interest in ASU's Six Sigma Black Belt Certification Program, a program created for both ASU graduate students and working professionals.

As a student, you will gain Six Sigma expertise that is officially recognized in both professional and academic circles by completing four courses (15 academic credits) plus a Black Belt project. Additionally, these graduate-level credits may be applied towards the Master of Engineering degree in Quality and Reliability Engineering, and to other graduate degrees in the Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering. Academic credits also transfer to other graduate programs across the nation, so coursework may be applied to programs at other universities.

Upon completion of the requirements, program participants will be awarded two certificates: the ASU Fulton School of Engineering Black Belt Certificate (a professional certification) and the ASU Graduate Certificate in Statistics (an academic certification).

For maximum flexibility, all courses may be taken on-line through the Fulton School of Engineering Center for Professional Development or in a traditional classroom. Every online course is offered three times each year, offering participants maximum scheduling flexibility. Program courses may also be taken in a traditional classroom format, although not all courses are offered in each semester.
