Career Focus Areas

The Career Focus Area is comprised of three classes (nine semester hours) that represent each student's career interest upon graduation. Six of the nine semester hours should include upper-division course work. Certain career focus areas, however, may require more than nine semester hours depending on course pre-requisites. A student desiring a focus area other than those listed below is invited to create his or her own that concentrates on a professional service area. For more information, see your academic advisor.

Out-of-State Transfer Students

Once you submit your application to Arizona State University, you will need to request that your transcripts (from every institution attended) be sent to ASU's Admissions/Records Office.

Local Community College Transfer Students

Once you submit your application to Arizona State University, you will need to request that your transcripts be sent from your community college to ASU's Admissions/Records office.

After you have been admitted to ASU, the Admissions/Records office will post your coursework to the university system with the appropriate equivalencies. If you have any question about the course equivalencies, please visit with the IE advising office for clarification.

International Transfer Students

Once you submit your application to Arizona State University, your academic records need to be submitted to ASU's International Admissions Office. The responsibility of this office is to review the coursework that was completed at your home institution. International Admissions will grant you "x" number of hours for transfer credit. Once this process is complete (and your admission is confirmed), the International Admissions Office will forward transfer information to the IE Advising Office.
