Integrated BSE/MS-MSE Program

The Industrial Engineering Department offers an integrated BSE/MS-MSE program as part of the undergraduate IE curriculum. This program is particularly suited for students with strong academic backgrounds who are motivated to pursue independent research. Participants will have an opportunity to work in a laboratory/ research environment and engage in theoretical and/or experimental work with faculty and doctoral student mentors.

Getting Started

Welcome to Industrial Engineering at ASU. It's great to have you as a member of our academic family, and we are hopeful that this major will far exceed your expectations. There are several things you need to do before classes start. First, attend ASU's Freshman Orientation so that you can meet with your IE academic advisor and learn more about our IE program and the procedures for class registration.

Curriculum

The curriculum in Industrial Engineering builds upon mathematics, computer utilization, and the engineering core. Beyond this foundation, the curriculum includes a number of required IE core courses, IE electives, and focus study area electives, enabling each student to focus on a specific career objective.

By successfully completing this curriculum, the student is prepared to embark on a career in industrial engineering or to pursue an advanced education in graduate school.

Steps for Academic Advisement:

STEP 1. Initiate contact with your IE Academic Advisor and schedule an advising session

STEP 2. Meet with your Academic Advisor and determine required courses

STEP 3. During your advising session, secure advising clearance*

STEP 4. Register for classes through ASU Interactive

Admission

The Industrial Engineering Department adheres to the admission guidelines that have been set for all students entering the Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering. Students are admitted into Industrial Engineering under one of the following categories: First Time Freshmen, Transfer, or Returning.
