The Industrial Engineering (IE) Department of Arizona State University (ASU) offers three graduate degree programs: Master of Science (MS), Master of Science in Engineering (MSE), and the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.). The MS degree requires a written thesis and an oral defense of this thesis. The MSE degree program is a non-thesis option that requires a final written Comprehensive Exam covering the core area coursework. The Ph.D. degree is offered to students who have completed a Bachelors or Master’s degree in engineering, or a closely related field, with distinction.
