Critical Requirements
Incominq Freshman Students
Effective Fall 2007, all incoming freshman students will be required to complete a set of courses known as Critical Reguirements which are specific to each degree program. Critical Requirements (also called Skill-Set courses) are to be taken at the beginning of the degree program until completed. This set of lower-division courses was designed to serve as a predictor of academic success in the Industrial Engineering degree program.
First Time Freshman students will be expected to complete the Critical Requirements by the end of their third semester at ASU (full-time enrollment). Students who are unable to successfully complete these courses should meet with their academic advisor to discuss their options.
Effective Fall 2007, all incoming freshman students will be required to complete ASU101 (The ASU Experience). ASU101 is a one-hour credit course designed to help incoming freshmen transition to ASU and is required for graduation. Your academic advisor will help you select the appropriate section for engineering students.
Incoming Transfer Students
Transfer and Returning students will need to work with their academic advisor to identify any remaining Critical Requirements that must be completed. Students who need to take Critical Requirement courses must do so as soon as possible, and will not be allowed to take upper-division coursework until all of the Critical Requirements are met. Students who are unable to successfully complete these courses should meet with their academic advisor to discuss their options.
Incoming transfer students are not required to complete ASU101.
