International Transfer Students

Once you submit your application to Arizona State University, your academic records need to be submitted to ASU's International Admissions Office. The responsibility of this office is to review the coursework that was completed at your home institution. International Admissions will grant you "x" number of hours for transfer credit. Once this process is complete (and your admission is confirmed), the International Admissions Office will forward transfer information to the IE Advising Office. They will inform the IE Advising Office of the number of transfer hours granted, and will provide a list of the courses that were accepted and may be considered for your Industrial Engineering degree program.

Your responsibility, as an International Transfer Student, is to then meet with the IE Advising Office to learn about the courses that are to be considered toward your IE program. Once you know this, you will need to provide course descriptions to the IE Advising Office so that the second level of evaluations can begin. The IE Advising Office will approve transfer courses that may be applied to your degree program based on the International Admission Office guidelines.

Since many international students arrive close to the beginning of each semester, it is often difficult to evaluate all of your transfer coursework before the semester begins. Your IE advisor will make recommendations based on current information. And, please be aware that due to the timing of your arrival to the United States , you may be limited in the courses that are available. The IE Advising Office will recommend a 12-hour courseload (minimum) that will help you get started in your degree program.
